WELCOME TO THE SITE OF SKASE

SKASE - The Slovak Association for the Study of English, as a national member of ESSE,  is a society of researchers and teachers of English languages, literatures in English, cultures and area studies of English-speaking people in Slovakia. It endeavours to promote research and teaching in the field by facilitating intellectual co-operation and the exchange of ideas and experience in English studies across Slovakia and by promoting international co-operation under the auspices of ESSE.

Given the non-existence of specialized linguistic and literary journals  in the field of English linguistics and English studies, one of the main aims of SKASE is to promote research at Slovak universities by establishing and publishing  – in co-operation with Prešov University – international journals of theoretical linguistics, applied linguistics, and translation science.

By organizing conferences and seminars SKASE intends to bring together scholars, researchers and teachers of various aspects of English studies both from Slovakia and abroad to enhance the academic dialogue,  research, and intellectual exchange.
